ABOUT US

Serving over 400 lawyers and legal professionals, the SCLA Is an essential resource for the legal community in Simcoe County providing timely access to legal information, expert research support, and a quiet space for focused work. Our library and barrister's lounge is located in the Barrie Courthouse, in beautiful Downtown Barrie


The SCLA Courthouse Law Library is a member of an Ontario-wide network that comprises of 48 courthouse law libraries, the Ontario Courthouse Libraries Association. Our large curated collection includes legislation, case law, practice tools, and legal databases to support fair, informed decision-making. Whether you're a lawyer, paralegal, student, or self-represented litigant, our goal is to connect you with the tools and knowledge you need. The Simcoe County Law Association was founded in 1890 and has long held to its tradition of good library management and a diverse, and comprehensive collection.
